There was a big rise in Indian Exports. India’s August exports rose 44.25 per cent to $24.3 billion from a year earlier, while imports for the month rose 41.82 per cent to $38.4 billion, leaving a trade deficit of $14 billion.

Stera Technologies,the Finland Based company which specializes in production of mechanical and electronic assemblies, inaugurated its factory in Chennai on Tuesday. The factory, set up at a cost of 3 million euros (around $4 million), is its first in India.

Telenor, the Norwegian telecom giant, has started a process to raise up to Rs 8,000 crore as funds in its Indian joint venture with real estate developer Unitech, Uninor.
