Try talking to real scientists or maybe use your statistics knowledge to simply count the number of scientists and scientific organizations (not governments, politicians, or media outlets – the actual experts in many different fields) who agree on the observable facts: The planet is warming. It is because of human action. And the consequences are going to be unpleasant. *And* we *can* do something about it – to mitigate or exacerbate..

As dangerously ignorant as Rys2sense is, I think you misunderstood that statement. It’s not that plants grow more in the dark than they do in the light, it is that they grow additionally in different but important ways in the dark than in the light.
And cannabis growers know this too, they know the ideal cycle is something like 16-20 hours of light, and at least 4 hours of darkness for the dark growth phase.
What a sad and downright disgusting display of ignorance, Rys2sense.
Intelligent people are laughing at you. This is an insult to ‘Mr. Wizard.’ and a misrepresentation of known facts.

All of the world’s scientific organizations concur on these issues. Take it up with them. A couple deniers are not going to change the science, they can only confuse people which is dangerous and dishonest.

I also wanted to mention chemtrails and some of the ingredients in chemtrails are supposidly altering our climate. And a technology I hear is utilizing some of the ingredients to effect our climate even moreso. You’ve probably heard about this.
Its as if society is being taught to weed out any intelligence that could possibly contradict the well being of the most wealthy people in the world.
I happened to see a disney show months back on tv. I was discusted with the ignorance and profiling that was in the show and what I got from it, is that its to make kids or anyone for that matter feel, that if they belittle other people, for reasons that they are taught to, they are bigger and better.
And if you research things for yourself, AT ALL, you will be labeled as a total geek, loser, weirdo, etc. Alot of other people will see you as such because they have ‘bought the lies’. The thoughts expressed in this video are so true. I try telling people stuff like this and even just try to have an intelligent conversation with people sometimes and its like they can’t contribute. Usually they get angry and have nothing to come back at me with, sometimes they’ll say they don’t know.
Not wrong about darkness/light exposure for plants.

Sure, the amount of light a particular plant needs to grow in its ‘natural cycle’ varies, do the fucking experiment yourself. Do it with a plant that “requires a lot of light.” Grow that plant under normal light conditions for several days. Turn the light off for a couple of days. You might be surprised at what you find.
@SlackerSlayer As to how thermal expansion will raise humidity, I don’t know, but the oceans expand too, and that’s been accounting for about half of sea level rise for the past couple of decades, so I think it’s safe to say that drowns it out (pun intended).
The predictions I’ve seen put see level rise at a maximum of ~6 feet, not 10. Enough to leave millions homeless; I personally don’t think those people deserve to be homeless, and your indifference makes me think you’re a bit of an ass.
@SlackerSlayer In other words, the yearly increase in displacement from just the melting of the Greenland icesheet is vastly larger than total displacement from every ship on the planet, even assuming the ships are all super-sized.

@SlackerSlayer If you knew about land-locked ice, why the misleading title? You know this clip doesn’t debunk global warming.
The shipping question interested me; according to Marisec, there are about 53k ships on the planet, and according to Wikipedia (lol) the largest ship ever built weighed ~650k tonnes with a full hold. Assuming every ship is that size, that’s a total displacement of ~34.5 Gt, compared to the 286 Gt/yr ice loss from the Greenland icesheet in 2007-2009.
@Hooya2 I knew someone would mention the land locked ice. Will a warmer planet result in more clouds and how much water vapor can the atmosphere hold on average.
I am currious how much the sea level has risen due to the boats and shipping on it. If your life depends on the water staying below a ten foot or more rise, you live too close to the water. Why anyone can buy flood or other water damage insurance when they live on the shore is insane. It is a cost society can not afford.

You are such a hypocrisy. You almost gave me a perma-facepalm. Talking about how ignorant most people are, and all-the-while getting almost everything in this video wrong. And even after two+ days you still have not admitted to the biggest and most obvious mistake you made about Mr. Wizard debunking global warming. And BTW; there have been periods in history where there was virtually no ice caps to speak of.
@Rys2sense Scientists have all sorts of political beliefs. They’re not all a bunch of evil liberals. Nor are they all so unprincipled that they’d engage in a huge conspiracy to lie about their work. And without a seamless conspiracy, a lie won’t last, that’s the beauty of the scientific method. No need anyway, since politicians will happily do the lying regardless of the science.

@Rys2sense WRONG SIR WRONG!!! They don’t keep pot in 24 hour light for potency… cannabis does NOT produce buds or flower under 24 hour or even 18 hour light. It’s not until you have 12 hours of day and 12 hours of darkness that you enter the flowering stage. 24 hour light is used to maximize growth of the plant in the vegetative stage. Potency is genetically controlled and bud size is due to the time it is allowed to grow as well as Co2 and intesity of the bulb as well as light spectrum..
I just want to get the popcorn out, lean back, and watch the looks on the faces of the AWG as the global warming hoax collapses.

I agree that overpopulation is not our biggest problem and I also believe that cap & trade is a scam, but is it not possible that the current warming trend is a combination of sunspot activity (or whatever’s responsible for the historic ups and downs which I do acknowledge) *and* anthropogenic forces? Seems obvious to me that humans are a cancer on this planet. Yes the media is controlled and some scientists are gov’t stooges but the vast majority are smarter than the average person.
@Rys2sense You have that the wrong way around. Actually, volcanoes produce about 130-200 million tonnes of CO2 annually, whereas humans produced over 31 billion in 2009 alone.
Plant respiration and the ocean are both far more important in terms of the carbon cycle, but they balance themselves almost perfectly.
Of course, when ice is floating on water it displaces an amount of water equal to it’s mass, so the ice turning into water won’t change the water level.
HOWEVER this is only relevant when the ice is floating on the water; when the ice is on land, like it is for the Greenland icesheet and most of the south pole, the ice isn’t displacing any water, and runoff will raise the water levels.

A former Marine who wanted to be a lawyer, Keesham was working as an aid at NBC for radio host Bob Smith when Smith was asked to move his children’s radio show to TV as “Puppet Playhouse”.
