I never said a word about Kashmir in this video; why is everyone getting into politics over a piece on a lovely city in India? I’m sorry about the Taj Mahal photo getting in by mistake; of course I know, as everyone knows, that there is only one Taj Mahal, and it’s in Agra. Enjoy Udaipur. Julie

    Nice.

  11. JulieSHatfield says:

Yes, the photo of the Taj Mahal was put in by accident, and we are sorry for that. The Taj Lake Palace Hotel, however, was designed by the same person who designed the Taj Mahal, in the same fashion.

  12. travelvideo says:

Yes, thanks for your thoughtful comments and yes, indeed, the Taj is in Agra. Sorry for any misunderstanding. I have passed your comments on to the correspondent for further comment. Please watch our other TVPs and thanks for writing

I’ve been to Udaipur- great place, rooftop restaurants overlooking the lake (sometimes with large raptors- eagles?- swooping amongst buildings), center of miniature-style painting, somewhat higher in elevation- cooler in climate than lowlands. But why is the Taj Mahal in this video? The Taj, of course, is in Agra. There’s only one Taj, of course, but, other than that, I’d much rather be in Udaipur than in Agra.

  21. AI009 says:

India’s poverty has declined drastically and what problems are you talking about? I think u r still living in 1980s as your video clearly shows that: old, crowded, unruly India. A typical Western stereotype.

  22. AI009 says:

Not all Kashmiris think that way.

  23. InckyPinky says:

Being democratic, any Indian government which gives up Kashmir is definitely going to loose power during next general elections. Political opponents will get a strong point, other separatist movements will get boost, and voter base will decrease. With no international pressure to hold plebiscite, the government is not willing to take any chances. Giving up Kashmir will make India look like a “weak state”. Frankly, not many Indians want Kashmir as it is a drain on India’s booming economy.

  24. travelvideo says:

Well, the idea that `”wider sentiment of Kashmiris” will not be considered may be valid. But if in fact they no longer live there, why should their preferences be valid?/

  25. InckyPinky says:

Also, major Kashmiri political parties like National Conference and PDP have always been pro-India and have enjoyed mass acceptance in the region. PDP is allied with Indian National Congress and NC even supported Hindu-nationalist BJP led government. Other major political parties, like Hurriyat Conf, want greater self-determination rights while being a part of India. Anti-Indian parties like JKLF are very vocal and active but do not have wide acceptance.
